Are Essential Oils Essential

What oil is best?

Greetings dance fans.  Ever wondered about the effectiveness of essential oils?  A big fan of essential oils myself (I use DoTerra), I have seen first hand how well they work.  It is one of those topics that has so much information attached to it that it is difficult to know where to start or which oil to use first.  And I believe that once you experience using an essential oil,  you will become curious and hooked, all at the same time.

Being an avid oil user, I get asked the same question from almost everyone: If I could only choose one oil, which one should it be?  And there are several that come to mind.

  1. Lavender - Used for everything from relieving pain to treating bacterial and fungal infections.  This is just the tip of the iceberg with this amazing oil.
  2. Peppermint - This oil is used for asthma, digestion, memory enhancement, or my favorite, inflammation.
  3. Tea Tree (melaleuca) - Because if its antimicrobial and antiseptic properties this oil is used from fighting viruses to cleaning around the house.

So this is a list of three very multi functional essential oils and certainly among my favorites.  I also always have lemon, frankincense, and oregano on hand.  But which one would I recommend if you could only get one?  Lavender.  It has so many uses; burns, cuts, skin rashes, calming, I try to keep a bottle in every room.

Why use oils?

You know what I think?  It is so nice to have an alternative to something made with chemicals or pharmaceuticals.  My kids do not mind using them.  In fact, they have their own oil bag, in which they carry lavender, melaleuca, and a sinus blend.  And you know what else?  They work!

In my home we think so much of essential oils that we created a business that utilizes the power of oils in some of our products.  The most popular is our foot spritz;  pkFRESH.  My dancer uses it in her dance bag, her pointe shoes, and actually on her feet.  And even though it comes in a cute, pink, 2.5 ounce bottle, it works great in baseball, soccer, and any other athletic shoe or bag.  It smells really fresh and fights smelly foot and shoe odors.

So what do you think?  Are essential oils essential.  I think you know my opinion but I would love to hear from you.  Don't forget to leave a comment.
